Sharing
Sabbaths
Celebrate
The Pastor's birthday By Doing Random Acts of
Kindness
I
would like for you to celebrate my 61st birthday
with me by doing something special; that is by doing
random acts of kindness to anybody (friend or
stranger) during the week of November 22-29.
It could be helping someone across the street,
feeding the poor, cleaning a neighbor's window,
paying for the groceries for someone in front on
you at the food store--anything. Record it or
take a video of what you are doing to did and
email it to me.
Then on Sabbath, November 28, will be Sharing
Sabbath, when
every member is encouraged to bring a
small token or gift to church to give to someone
in church that Sabbath (when the pastor gives
the instruction to do so). It can be a
sandwich, cookie, vege pattie, candle, candy,
necktie, socks, anything small and not costly.
So celebrate my birthday by doing these kind
acts of kindness. My birthday is on
November 29th.
Then on Sabbath, December 26, it is also Sharing
Sabbath. This is the Sabbath when everybody
will bring a small gift or anything to give to
those in need. It will be the season of
giving so let us all participate. That
gifts will be placed up front by the pulpit on
the Sabbath day.
This is love in action. Making the gospel
attractive through loving actions. "It is
this way everyone will know that you are my
disciples if we love one another." John 13:35
