Can teens like you truly be sexually pure. What is sexual purity? It is more than abstaining from sex. Sexual purity is not engaging in any form of sexual activity (clinical or emotional) before marriage and remaining faithful to you marriage partner (no pornography or affairs) after marriage.   Sexual purity is a state of mind and body. Sexual abstinence is a state of body only. Sexual purity includes both mind and body, we need both of them. Sexual purity is the dedication of your entire body to healthy living--Jesus. Today, more teens like you, are experimenting with risky sex activities than ever before. Oral sex, anal sex, masturbation, pornography are far too common, and often among teens who live in Christian homes.  Thus we have more teens who are getting sexually transmitted infections –STDs/ STIs such as gonorrhea, genital herpes, genital warts and AIDS, just a few examples.   Many students your age are being fooled to think that oral sex is really not sex or not intimate and you cannot get sick doing it. Many students your age are using oral sex as an entry-level sex act. They are not recognizing the intimacy and the consequences that are attached to oral sex.   “Giving oral sex casually can lead to a bad reputation. It can also lead to poor self-esteem and untrustworthy relationships in the future. They may think, 'Hey, this is the way to be popular.' It's not.”   My emphasis during the week is that a key reason teenagers engage is lots of sex before marriage, in drugs, alcohol, etc., is because of a poor self-image, or low self-esteem.   Student’s let me say this right here: You are priceless and are of great value. When you know you are of great value you would not engage in risky activities. Do you remember yesterday what I talked about? I talked about the three most important decisions in life:   Your spiritual direction. Your occupational direction. Your social direction.   Listen, if you know you are special and if you know you are of great value and if you have healthy feelings of self-worth, then the chances of you doing all of these things will be much less. Here is a foundation. It is found in Genesis 1:27: 27 “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Verse 28: 28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”   Note that to be in God’s image one need not have sex. The first description of Adam and Eve was their involvement in labor, not sex.   In other words, the completeness of the final product of God’s creation (humans) is not made possible in the sex act but is a matter of fact how God made us.   Students, we are all made complete. We are all made in God’s image. That means we have great value from the minute we are born. “That is why I can feel good about me. I do not need sex to make me feel good.” I can say no to my friends when they ask me for sex.   Repeat these words after me: "God made me complete, unique, special, and with a purpose."   If you believe this then you will find it easier to say no to sex before marriage. Some of you would say he is a friend or she is a friend. You need to define who is a friend because not friend will ask you to stick his penis in your mouth. This is raising the risk of you getting sores in your mouth. You don’t even know if he had a bath in days.   Students, Satan is a smart fellow. He knows that if he could keep you watching and listening for dirty stuff he will have you trapped.   That is why I am asking this question—who is governing your life? It is a power source inside of you or a power source outside of you.   Here it is: If an external stimulus is your master, then there is a greater risk you will have sex before you get married. What are these external stimuli --- too much television, porn, negative music, kissing, feeling up, sex. Watch here now -- If an internal value is your master, then there is a much less risk that you will have sex before you get married.   What are these “internal values?” They are healthy standards of living, moral standards you agree with. It is knowing that you are of great value. Committed to a life of purity. It is not just about feelings.   Satan uses the five senses to get in to your head. That is the only way he can reach inside your head. He uses sight, hearing, touch, small and taste. Satan cannot read your mind. He can only get in the mind through the five senses. The Holy Spirit can get into the mind without using any of the five senses.   Sexual purity is mastering the five senses and not allowing the five senses to master you.   You see boys and girls God wants you to remain or be a virgin and be proud of it. Be not ashamed of it. Why. Because it is safe. Why? Because God said it. Why? Because you have all to gain and nothing to lose.   God wants your entire body, including you sex organs and your brain for him. The Bible doesn't condemn sex. Actually, Song of Solomon tells us that sex is a beautiful thing. Yet, when we decide to have sex that is what is wrong. Some of you students need to make some changes in your life. Some may need to take the television out of your bedroom. Stop spending so much time on your smart phone. Go to bed earlier. Stop having sex. Stop drinking. Stop using marijuana.   “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Male students repeat: "I dedicate my penis, lips, tongue, fingers, eyes, and ears to God."   Female students repeat: "I dedicate my vagina, clitoris, breast, lips, tongue, fingers, eyes, and ears to God."   Romans 12:2, 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
